We have received registration numbers and reached the maximum capacity. No more registration will be accepted. The names received will be checked against the photo ID at the registration desk.

9:30 - Registration ($5 per person, CASH only, no change will be made, please bring exact amount, MUST show photo ID to enter the seminar)

9:45 - Class Begins

11:45 - Lunch break 30 minutes (optional lunch buffet across the hall. Not included in the $5 registration fee.

12:15 - Class Resumes

No late entry will be permitted 15 minutes after the class starts.

Cricket Pitch Vandalised at Lonestar Cricket Ground

Carl Samsair has reported the following vandalism incident that took place at Lonestar Cricket Ground in Irving. Please contact Carl or the EC if you know anything that will help us find the culprits.

" TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
DEAR SIR
I would like to let you all know that somebody has CUT THE CARPET with a KNIFE AT Lonestar Field. Some time last week. I was called out to see the damage by the guys that played this weekend. They told me that they played the week before and the CARPET was good and now it is cut with a knife. I am not happy, I always give the field for use if we don't have a game. I will report this incident to the CITY OF IRVING. As for now the GROUND will be closed for all games until the carpet is replace. NTCA can you please send out a message to all club about what happen? I don't want anyone to get hurt on the field due to the damaged carpet. Whoever did this don't have any kind of love of cricket. "

Groupings are only for the purpose of drawing fixtures. Top 8 teams among the 3 groups will qualify for Quarterfinals. Ladder tie-breakers will be points and NRR.

Winter Cup Rules and Regulations 2011-12

Rules and Regulations are the same as NTCA Primary League. In addition the following rules will be implemented:

1.1 The Winter Cup games shall be 30-over matches

1.1a The 30-yard fielding restriction will be implemented for the first 9 overs as per the NTCA by-laws. Overs 1-9: Maximum of 2 outside the circle; Overs 10-30: Minimum of 4 fielders plus the WK and Bowler inside the circle

1.2 Match balls will be provided for the tournament.

1.3 Umpiring: One neutral umpire will be assigned for each fixture. Batting side will provide the striker’s end umpire. Teams must fulfill their umpiring obligations. A “NO SHOW” by the umpire will cost the team 5 points. Each team shall pay the umpire $20 each for a total of $40 match fee.

1.4 Start Time: Matches shall start at 10:30 AM. Toss shall take place by 10:15 AM and the first ball shall be delivered by 10:30 AM with penalties for late start per the NTCA Primary League rules.

1.5 Playing for multiple teams: A player may play for more than one club during the Round Robin League phase. During playoffs, a player is only allowed to play from one club. The player will be considered registered with any respective club, when he represents that club in the 1^st playoff game. Representing multiple clubs from playoff will be a violation of 1.5 and will be dealt with the team’s immediate elimination from the tournament.

1.6 12-Player Rule: During the Round Robin League phase, a team may play with 12 players as long as only 11 field at any given time and no more than 11 bat including retired. 10 wickets will mark the end of innings or 30 overs whichever occurs first. The 11 or 12 player nomination list MUST be given to the opposing captain and the umpire prior to toss.

1.7 Dress Code: 'Whites' are recommended but NOT required for the Winter Cup matches. No red, orange, or shades similar to cricket ball will be allowed. Fielders may wear non wicket-keeping gloves as protection from cold weather. No baseball gloves or any other gloves that will assist in catching will be allowed.

1.8 Weather Conditions
1.8a If the expected high temperature for the game day is 50F or higher than the match must take place UNLESS BOTH teams agree to not play in which case both teams will split the points.

1.8b The team not showing up, when the temperature for the game day is 50F, will get 0 pts and the team present (8 or more players) will get full 10 points.

1.8c If rain or bad light curtails play, the side that has scored the fastest in runs per over; throughout the innings (provided at least 15 overs have been bowled in the 2nd innings) shall be the winner.

1.8d Check game day weather forecast one day prior at 5pm for this purpose and call opposing Captain if in doubt. The official weather forecast for this purpose will be Winter Cup Weather Forecast. The link is located on the WC web site or can be accessed by logging in to http://www.weather.com and enter DFW for the airport code.

1.8e If the expected temperature (high) for game day is 49F or less, then teams will split points (5 each) unless the 2 captains decide to play. Umpires will NOT be obligated to officiate if weather forecast is 49F or less. The result will count.

1.9 Result Reporting: BOTH teams, regardless of the result, MUST post the match result by Wednesday 5 PM following the match weekend. Failure to comply will result in a 1 point penalty. The result must be posted via Result Vault on ntcricket.com. No detailed scores should be added. Adding individual player scores will result in penalties. Both captains need to report called off match, with reasoning, to oc@ntcricket.com by EOD Sunday.

1.10 All complaints MUST be made in writing and emailed to oc@ntcricket.com by the following Wednesday of the incident.

1.11 The Schedule and the Umpiring Assignments are FINAL and will NOT be changed. Re-scheduling is at the sole discretion of the NTCA Executive Committee.

1.12 Liability Waiver
By participation in Winter Cup, the participant hereby convenes not to bring any action legal, equitable, or otherwise, or to make any claim of any nature whatsoever against the NTCA, its organizers, participants, teams, and players, the club and its officers, representatives and any other persons involved with the club activities, either directly or indirectly, for any personal injury or injuries, including death or property damage which participant or others might sustain in engaging in Winter Cup necessarily incidentally associated therewith. Participant hereby release and further discharge the NTCA, either directly or indirectly, of any responsibility or liability of any nature to him for any personal injuries, health or property damage which he may suffer or incur either directly or indirectly as a result of his participation in Winter Cup.

4th quarter 2011 Financial Report -

The report is available to be viewed under the Treasurer's corner.
The goal is to deliver a true money's worth of the revenue generated through regidtration fee. We were able to accomplish that in 2011 and infact add to it through our sponsors and DPL. It has been a good financial year for NTCA, maily due to the Contribution and Support from our sponsors, and the revenue generated by DPL.

I would like to thank each club for their support.

Due to rain forecast and high of 45F for Sunday this weekend, the Winter Cup start is being delayed by one week to Sunday December 11. The schedule will be posted by Sunday Dec 4.

Winter Cup Late Fee Penalty

Gentleman,

One of the main reason for the winter cup fee deadline was to make sure scheduling committee had enough time to complete the schedule in a timely manner. The scheduling committe needs to the know the accurate number of teams entering the tournament to do their task.

The intial communice' for the winter cup entry fee went out on 21Nov11, with a clear and hard deadline of 26Nov11.
Any club that wants to enter a team in WC has till end of day today to deposit the money in the NTCA account.
Please send an email after depositing the money with the receipt details to ec@ntcricket.com.

Any club entering a team after 26Nov11 will have to pay a penalty of $50 per team.
No club will be allowed to enter a team after 30Nov11

DPL Playoffs start on 18th Nov Friday

The DPL 2011 playoffs are here. At the end of the league phase, here are the standings.

1. DKR

4. Dallas Royals.

The format of the tournament is the 1st seed gets a bye into the final, the 2nd seed gets a bye into the semi-finals, and the 3rd and 4th seeds play against each other in the quarter finals to face the 2nd seed !!!

The exciting thing is that the teams are almost evenly matched in the playoff’s – all of them have 4 wins and 2 losses from their league games and only the NRR separates them !!!

Plans are on the anvil to make the playoff’s very exciting for the spectators as well – stay tuned for further details to be announced shortly.
